DAY-1 : Iruppu Waterfalls
As i wanted to cover Best places to visit in Coorg, my first day plan is obviously Iruppu waterfalls as they are definitely a perfect start to trip.
Iruppu Waterfalls: Most Scenic Waterfalls near Coorg

The Walk:
I visited the breathtaking Iruppu Falls in Brahmagiri, located about 75 km from Madikeri—our base for a three-day getaway. The moment I entered the area, I was instantly filled with happiness and calm. Gentle breezes and the soothing sounds of nature surrounded me, creating the perfect welcome. The path to the falls began with a peaceful walk across a charming bridge, setting the tone for the beauty that lay ahead.
The Beauty:
After the scenic walk, I was welcomed by the majestic Iruppu Falls—standing 170 feet tall, flowing gracefully like a young woman dancing with joy. Its elegance stirred a wave of nostalgia in me, taking me back to the carefree days of childhood, when I lived under the warm embrace of my parents’ love—free from worries, deadlines, and responsibilities. As the cool water droplets sprinkled gently on my face, they made my skin glow, and my heart feel alive, just like those innocent days in the childhood.
What Makes Iruppu Special:
Unlike overly crowded tourist spots, Iruppu Falls has its natural charm amid the forest view. It’s a perfect place for:
- Nature photography
 - Quiet reflection or meditation
 - A short trek and family-friendly adventure
 - Instagrammable moments

And yes, the Waterfalls is part of the Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary, so keep your eyes wide and open—you might spot a few exotic birds or beautiful butterflies along the way.
As I travelled with my husband and my bestie couple we had some beautiful memories that we can cherish forever!

Travel Tips:
Best time to visit the Place: Monsoon and post-monsoon (June to December) when the falls are in full flow.
Entry fee: It is Rs. 40/- per person.
Footwear: Wear comfortable shoes as the path can get slippery as it drizzles almost all time.
Carry: Water bottle, camera, and maybe a raincoat or an umbrella if it’s drizzling.
Nearby places: You can also plan a visit to the Rameshwara Temple located near the falls.
And finally, don’t leave without treating yourself to a hot plate of Maggi in that cozy atmosphere—it’s the perfect comfort food that warms your soul and tickles your taste buds! 😉Of course, Chai is always another tempting option.
My Final Thoughts:
Iruppu Falls is not just any Place—it’s a lifetime experience. Whether you’re a solo traveler, couple, or family, the serenity and beauty of this place will leave a lasting impression on your heart.

Day-2: Mandalpatti Trek, Kukke Subrmanya Temple, Raja Seat Park
We had planned the perfect day—starting with a breathtaking sunrise at Mandalpatti Hill, soaking in the divine energy at the sacred Kukke Subramanya Swamy Temple, and wrapping it up with a serene sunset at Raja’s Seat Park. But nature had its own plans! Though the day didn’t go exactly as scheduled, it turned out to be unexpectedly beautiful and filled with joy in its own unique way😊 Let’s go!!
Mandalpatti Trek
Being a non morning person, I found it extremely difficult to wake up early that too in the chilling breezes of Coorg, but yeah the mere thought of witnessing the most beautiful sunrise made me to get ready by 5.30 am. The journey to the trek is of course not easy. Located at 18 Km from Madikeri, Coorg standing tall at a height of 1600m, it is a famous tourist spot . Mandalpatti literally means ” Market of clouds ” due to the picturesque view of clouds all around the hill. The journey to the peak needs a Jeep Ride that charged us Rs.3200/- for four of us. The journey itself seemed to be an adventure due to the narrow and uneven terrain. We only jumped and bounced all through the jeep ride onto the peak. 😉

But the market of clouds that day was so busy that there was no visibility of Sun at all, only to view clouds, fog and light drizzle. Yeah, could not witness the sunrise but surely it was magical and ‘Mist’ical 🙂

Don’t miss this stunning and breathtaking location if you are keen to know and view the best places to visit in Coorg.
Kukke Subramanya Temple
The next thought we had after the trek is to dwell into the spiritual mode to find serenity. Kukke is one of the renowned temple in the Western Ghats on the banks of Kumaradhara River
